    Dear all,

I'm just wondering if orthopaedic surgeons have any formal exams in foot surgery? In the UK our trainees currently have to complete 2 exams during their practical training in surgery - one is an OAPS style exam and the final exam that gains them elligability for ellection to fellowship is a practical exam performing surgery on a set number of patients. Do our collegues in orthopaedics have a similar system in foot surgery? Or do any of our American podiatric surgeons go through a similar set of hoops within/ at the end of their surgical residency.

I was interested to see how similar the Australian training system was to the UK system and was just wondering what the state of play is in the rest of the world and in other professions. I used to know a friendly orthopod who had been on a foot and ankle fellowship, but I lost contact with him and never sought to find out more information about it at the time.

    Thanks,
    Bob.
