    Hi Peter

had same issue a few years back and ended up moudling one myself with some old hexalite I found in the cupboard (remeber that stuff!!). If you are in the NHS try your Occupational Therapy Department as they might have some good materials for a self manufactured splint.
    regards

Heather Netscher from brisbane Qlds runs a paeds practice, she sells paeds splints for hav and other things temp forgotten the companys name..,but guess you could ring her?
you custom to the patient. they are a aquaplast material , cut to shape with velcro attachments ready to put in place, you put it in just boiling water, protect patients foot with stockingette, mould and set the angle , line with moleskin.
a little prep but come in numerous sizes from little ones to adults.

Is there any evidence or papers on the effectiveness of theses splints?

  5. Graham check this thread there is lots of discussion about papers and results for night splints.

  7. I'll tell you what, I hadn't looked at the Groiso study for many, many years. I had a quick glance again tonight and within about 30 seconds I spotted this: take a look at figure 2, which is supposed to be the same foot in pictures and radiographs, pre and post treatment. Is it just me or does figure 2d, not look anything like the same as the foot in figure 2b? Supposedly the same foot at the same time.... Spooner's half time opinion: bull**** :hammer:

Moreover, look at the sesamoid position in 2d- success?
