Hello all, I am a podiatry student coming into my second year in september and am looking to gain some work experience over next summer. I would love to have a placement in san francisco although i do know this placement would be as an assistant. Does anyone know of anywhere that would take a UK second year student for a couple of weeks over next summer? Failing that New Zealand or Australia would be equally as wonderful. Thanks, look forward to hearing any suggestions.

Welcome aboard Kirsty. You are certainly keen. Congrats. :--))
Perhaps it is worth advertising in the forums of the countries that you are interested in working in.
If you were visiting O.S. then paid work would change the type of visa you would possibly need. Depends on what you want to do.
Long way to come to Aus or N.Z. for a couple of weeks.??
Once you have dates and times then post this info, I am sure you will be welcome at many places.
Give us a call if you get down under.

    Cheers

Thankyou for your reply, as I am new on here still getting to grips with it, so will find out how to post this question onto the boards of the countries I would like to work in. I would not really be looking for it to be paid work, just for the experience really. All quite exciting.

    Take care

Hi go to the Employment Forums, or Country Forums, you can access this from "home".
If you are not looking ot be paid, then, pick your destination, then you could advertise in the STATE ASSOCITATION, or send letters to Pods in that area.
Again sounds like exciting times and perhaps you can do several days at differenrt clinics.
    Cheers
