    Hi Guys

Wanting to know your thoughts around a sticky situation!
What potential issues would you see arising from an orthotist using my podiatry clinic room 1/2 day a week? (which i lease from medical practice-so not meant to be for my exclusive use unless i work there full time)

Initial thoughts from me were - my treatment couch is there, so should i be charging a fee for them to use my couch?
issue around potential damage/wear and tear to treatment couch
    potential loss of orthotics business
potential block of me increasing my days if i wanted to
what will they be doing in their consults? i.e. orthotic modificaiton - could be infection control issues.

Any other ideas/advice would be much appreciated

If it is of such a concern to you of potential lost revenue and other possible cost or damages, book that time out yourself, leave no room for them.

It would be cheaper and secures your possible future growth as well as protecting your current revenue.

Yes, this is the problem with leasing a room within a medical centre.
The medical company really does have complete control over you and your practice. This could be only the start of future problems.. What if they decide that the orthotist is allowed to come and work in another room, despite you leasing 5 days a week.
Fraught with danger, they could easily take over your orthotic workload. Or even worse, employ another Podiatrist to cover your non worked days?
Yes you get the referrals from the doctors, but I would recommend one and all go into their own premises, to ensure that ownership of your intellectual property and goodwill is retained.
What if you wanted to sell your practice? What would the medical centre say then?
