I have suffered for years from plantar/foot blistering caused by friction. I was told by a dermatologist many years ago that it was a form of epidermolysis bullosa (marching syndrome) and that I have very little fat pad on the soles of my feet.

I have spent hundereds of dollars on every kind of insert and protective padding I could find. I have had a tech scan performed and it shows extremely high pressure points on my heel and the 3rd metatarsal head which is where I have the most trouble. It seems to be getting worse and is limiting my ability to walk even limited distances without being bandaged up. I currently use moleskin with nylon to cover which extends my distances somewhat but have not had success with other areas of my feet.

If I don't get pedicures, the callous buildup and/or "bruising" becomes painful. If I get pedicures, the superficial blistering worsens since the callous isn't there to "protect".

I have heard about silicone injections and wondered if this would be an option and if it is available yet in the US.

I am a wound care professional (BSN, CWS) and am worried about long term implications of the problem, but most importantly with the fact that it seems to be worsening.

    Would appreciate any responses.
    thank you
