  7. U tomorrow, I needed to get ahead, this is a band I quite like:

I've tried to pick one from each album (ignore that wide awake is an ep- but I needed to get "that" song in, It'll be played at my funeral BTW)
From Boy- Shadows and tall trees
From October- I threw a brick through a window
    From War- 40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjtpplE39_g
From under a blood red sky- electric co. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHa5I40ovdM
    From Unforgettable fire- promenade
From wide awake in America- Bad
From Joshua Tree- running to stand still http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NatIg7Pokyk
From Rattle and Hum- God part 2
From Achtung baby- Zoo station (if you only watch one, watch this, the best show ever- then watch more TV)
    From Zooropa- dirty day
    From Pop- Miami
From All that you can’t leave behind- Kite
From How to dismantle an atomic bomb- Yahweh
From No line on the Horizon- Breathe

It’ll change tomorrow, but that’s today. If they are a bit dark in the main, it might be because my x-brother in law died today.
  8. So I guess U2 DAY has started a little early.

    heres mine Sunday Bloody Sunday

These guys were the last concert I went too in summer 09 with snow patrol one of the best live stadium concerts I´ve been to.

good idea simon - one from each album. even then its hard to choose!

    boy - i will follow
october - stranger in a strange land
    war - new years day
under a blood red sky - sunday bloody sunday
unforgetable fire - pride ( in the name of love)
wide awake in america- a sort of homecoming
joshua tree - still havent found
    rattle and hum - desire
    achtung baby - one
pop- if god would send his angels
zooropa - baby face (less said about that album the better)
all that you cant leave behind - walk on (brilliant in Glasgow last year)
how to dismantle.... - original of the species
no line on the horizon - i'll go crazy if i dont go crazy tonight

Old argument but do you prefer old U2 or new U2 (joshua tree being the cut off)

  10. No real preference, depends on how the mood takes me. You have to view the records as groups of 3 to make sense of them:

    1. Boy, October, War (under a blood red sky)
    2. Unforgettable fire, Joshua tree, rattle and hum
    3. Achtung baby, zooropa, pop
    4. All that you cant leave behind, how to dismantle an atomic bomb, no line on the horizon
  11. Thinking ahead as I like too, Does anyone have an X band. I have always used stuff from my collection in this list and for Z I will steal from my wifes, but X nothing I´ve got an X
1st name for a singer but no last. Ive found a band to put in from listening to them on Youtube but not a big fan to be honest
  12. x-ray spex
  13. I did think you would have one ......
  14. And one of the ones I found

  16. Barely touched the surface... here's boy/girl san francisco '81

11 o'clock tick tock- looks like somewhere during the small venue gigs they did pre elevation tour but it could be more recent- saw them at the Astoria (audience = 1000= immense- full on old school without several thousand dick-heads watching the gig through the lens of their mobile phones- don't get it- never will, don't complain that I'm pushing into you at the front of a U2 concert- get rid of the boom so we can feel the crush- rant over)
    A celebration

What do these single releases have in common?

100% agree ... always gets me with the tourists ... had one guy who i happened to notice several times along stops on the 'Great Ocean Road" lean over the rails, take a photo on a ?????? of some vista, turn, move a few paces away then look into the ?????? and go "wow" (or something like that) and then move onto the next .....twat is too nice for these prats

Just a quickie, My dad met Slash from GNR on more than one occasion ( dad used to work with his uncle and he got them reacquainted after many years apart!)

Slash asked my Dad who his favourite guitarist was ever, dad replied Rory Gallagher, and Slash Agreed!

  24. I love the sound of Velvet revolver but always think it pretty funny when you consider the history of the band.

Slash etc G´n´R- did not get well with the front man, thought he was unreliable and much much more in stronger language.

Set up ne band Velvet Revolver- get Scott Weiland of STP ( In my top 10 fave bands) as lead singer different voice that axel but they come from a similar mold.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for your personal message on how to attach You Tube videos to posts. I've just tried twice to send a reply to you and each time there has been a problem. I shall therefore give in gracefully. Thanks again.

Think I'll stick to just browsing.
