In first place is this gem. If anyone needed proof that Spooner was as cool as they come then look no further. He even performs gait analysis in the 'Jackson on the Thriller album cover' position. Nuff said. Legend.

  2. We call it "avoiding parallax". See that green line in the carpet he's walking down? See my head positioned so that I'm looking perpendicular to the line of progression? I stayed on my feet to look at his upper body, at this point I was checking Finch's sugar lumps out- not. Yep, that's how it's done. Plus, my feet were hurting me in my Kurt Geiger-counters;)

I"m waiting for the time when it'll be like Bill Gates showing you how to use DOS 3.3
(you can still get a lot of those same commands from the dos prompt.)

The only things missing from this picture are:

    A) long hair
    B) many guns
    C) a guitar

I've seen the pose on a lesser known album cover too. It's a classic and I'll endeavour to find it out.

  5. That was the "old me" this is the "new me" I couldn't find "me with guitar, guns and pants tonight"- shame, I liked that "me"

I got this game from Mark Russell. New thread- pick your best "you"?

I like what you've done with your hair. You'll be able to make the new you work well.

I've found the album cover I was talking about. Look familiar?

  7. I'll avoid the easy hair retort and ask this, where exactly does your musical taste lie? Actually, thinking about it, I don't want to know. Just tell me you won't grow a handlebar moustache and that you'll quit frequenting clubs with names like "The blue oyster bar"- right, Dave?

BTW, nice Lacoste, short and hat combination, Tino. Just noticed, he is showing us his ring on that album sleeve- Although I suspect that you're fooling no-one, sunbeam.

A huge thanks to Proff Kirby, Dr Spooner, Dr Payne and Trevor Prior for the fantastic 2 days in Manchester. These legends are so approachable for advice and inspiring!

It is evident from photos in their presentations that they have families and young children. This only makes their collective achievements more impressive.

    Thanks again,
    Athol

PS - Griff.....That is the David Brent pose from the office when he released that single! Only Spooner in a white linen suit +/- a tiger could make that photo any better......

That one is from the wife's collection; I'm a little more, ahem, traditional.

The blue oyster bar story was never proven. It's a time in my career i'm not proud of, although the moustache did suit me. I was only doing some gait analysis, honest m'lud.

  10. Nailed it A-hole. I knew I'd seen it. Note to self- lift leg to show package more, buy white suit, steal a tiger.

  12. Yeah, but your name is Lee Welch so why are you searching under James Welch:confused: As for you above with the pierced nipples: "suck it in son, suck it in." what are you benching these days in this sway back version of you, Lee?

Seems as though 220 is the going rate these days! ;)

  14. Nice work, Lee. I was pushing something similar down the gym tonight.

  15. What happened to Finch's come face?

For those who've never met Ian Griffiths, here's a photo of him in his current form (lovely hat, son):

    Dear all

Can I just take this opportunity to thank everyone who has posted coments as it is always rewarding to know delegates have benefitted. It is quite a while since I was last at the Summer School and it was great to see all the enthusiasm of everyone.

I would also like to thank Simon, Kevin and Craig for their company and giving me more food for thought / ideas.

Last but not least, a thanks to Paul and everyone at Langer for the organisation, hospitality and company.

    best wishes

    Trevor

  17. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Dave James (in my next incarnation, I want to be an Elvis impersonator, it's just not fair) and Dave's response is.....................

"Thank you, very much, brand new cadillac..., you're beautiful- brand new cadillac etc. etc."

I do like that look... that could well be the new me. It has a certain quality which says "arrest me, now".

"What does a squirrel do in the summer? It buries nuts. Why? Cos then in winter time he's got something to eat and he won't die. So, collecting nuts in the summer is worthwhile work. Every task you do at work think, would a squirrel do that? Think squirrels. Think nuts."

  20. Now that Pam and I are on our post-Biomechanics Summer School vacation in North Wales in a town called Llanfairfechan (yes...I can pronounce the name correctly...now), I thought I might share some photos for you of our trip.

The beach and ocean photos are just in front of our flat that we are staying in. The swan photo is from about 200 yards down from our flat on the “promenade”, just in front of the beach. The mountain photos are from the hike we took today where we hiked part way up the tallest mountain, Snowdonia, in Wales, about 35 minutes from our flat in Llanfairfechan.

Tomorrow is a 3 hour guided Beatles tour in a taxi in Liverpool. I can't wait!!

Thanks for all the kind comments from everyone about the seminar. I hope all that attended felt that the seminar was educational and enlightening. It was great for me to place more faces to the names on Podiatry Arena.

Maybe we'll see you again in 2012..........?

    Great photos Kevin.

Although why have you put a picture of Table mountain in the bottom right picture?

I used to live in N Wales so have a real fondness for it.

  23. Sadly, we are at the end of our Post-Biomechanics Summer School vacation in North Wales. I thought I would show you what we have been doing over the past week. We both love North Wales....we need another month to explore all the beautiful scenery!!

Thanks to all who made the Biomechanics Summer School such an enjoyable seminar for us.
