Hearing reports that it's a rather warm summer down-under with some parts of Oz subject to spontaneous combustion. Good luck to all colleagues experiencing difficulties with the conditions. Makes you wonder if there isn't something in the global warming claims after all.....what say you, Mark & Steve? :hammer:

 

Unfortunately, 'climate change' does seem to be happening, with Britain getting warmer wetter winters and sun-less summers :-(
Whether this is anything to do with human intervention, or a natural cycle that the earth goes through every 300 years, is yet to be seen.

Just bring back the sunshine in the UK, I miss it!

 

What ever the cause of the heat waves, it doesnt make for a real nice work day...little feet all in a queue waiting, runners no socks:hammer: or feet in thongs that look like they havent been washed this week...lucky we are too busy for lunch, just dont feel like it on those days.

Been much better this week with a couple of days in the 20's and a great relief for the fire fighters across the country...good work guys:drinks

We were one of the first vehicles down the Princess Highway at Wandandian (200km south of Sydney) the other day after it was reopened from the bush fire. To say it was scary would be a big exageration - but it was un-nerving. The van still stinks of wood smoke now, nearly a week later. The RFS are F,ing heroes - who deserve a load more respect than they get.

 

Goodaye Mark, just came across this thread. I never had the courage to join the volunteer bush fire brigade.
