I am a 2009 Podiatry graduate and I am looking for some assistance/advice; as you are probably all aware, employment is very hard to come by due to the current job freeze. Previous advice which I have received from clinical professionals have recommended that I should gain more clinical practice. I have since written to NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde to enquire about observing/shadowing, unfortunately they have advised that this is against their policy due to insurance reasons and patient confidentiality.

I am therefore at a loss as to how to achieve more clinical experience; in the interim I have been working hard by becoming a self-employed (part-time) podiatrist which has given me the opportunity to continue to utilise some of my skills.
I would be extremely grateful if anyone out there could offer some advice, or if anyone would be willing to take a chance on a very hard working and capable podiatrist who graduated in July 2009. Relocation out with of the UK would not pose an issue for me.
Any further suggestions regarding employment would also be welcomed.
Thank you,
