London Riots

Yep. A colleague, a former policeman working from the Perry Barr police station - which covers the Aston area of Birmingham, notorious for gangs - said that it was (and is) possible to openly buy a handgun for 60 quid. This a few years after handguns were completely banned in the UK , such that our pistol shooting sportsmen have to travel to France to practice for the Olympics!

Yes, well with the collapse of manufacturing in the West Midlands, all those engineers have to find something to do!

Seriously, many of these guns are what I believe are described in the USA and Jamaica as 'Saturday night specials'. They are crude guns made in small workshops and very often only carry one round but are nonetheless lethal. Occasionally, (unfortunately not often) they explode in the users hand causing severe injury which is then treated in the hospitals created by the society which these people reject and paid for by the taxpayers on whom these people prey. (Besides which, we aint posh like yow cockerneys 'n caw afford a Purdey)

    Cheers

I think there is a very long queue there now sadly from ordinary folk wanting to protect themselves their families and their homes from the scum

    Sad times

  5. Riot-accused 'form gangs' in British jails
    September 15, 2011 - 9:14PM
    AAP

An influx of inmates at British jails following the country's riots has sparked a gang culture behind bars, a prison boss says.

Two thirds of the more than 1500 people charged over the August violence - in which five people were killed, property was damaged and businesses looted across England - have been remanded in custody, pushing the country's prison population to breaking point.

Already the lockups have resulted in a rise in the number of prison incidents, Chief Inspector Nick Hardwick said.

    Advertisement: Story continues below
"There have been tensions between prisoners, some potentially serious incidents and significant numbers of young people placed on self-harm prevention procedures," Insp Hardwick said, in comments published in the British media.

"There have been some quite serious incidents of groups fighting, fights between individuals and gangs reconfiguring.

"Some young people who previously did not have gang affiliation have joined for self-protection. New gangs have also been established."

At one London young offenders institute the trouble led to the destruction of a gymnasium, while at another centre inmates were able to enter a restricted roof space from where they refused to return to their cells.

    Virgin media news today

    Headline , many rioters criminals.

    http://latestnews.virginmedia.com/news/uk/2011/09/15/middle_class_ghettoised_estates

Just shows how the limp wristed human rights, civil liberties tossers preaching" no punishment just let s talk to them" have got this country in the mess its in as they protect the "Ferral Underclass"..

We need Dickensian prisons to deter re offending not playstations , TV and the rest as they have now IMHO

    Cheers

I read on the BBC that the two MP's imprisoned for expenses fraud have been released after serving just a quarter of their sentences.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-14881229

Funny how the rich get away with most things, but a student 'rioter' gets 6 months for stealing water? Now I'm not saying that stealing is ok or anything, but I think maybe a warning or something would be more proportionate rather than an over-the-top sentence!!

    Just my 2p :)

There are 4 young fellas clearing the pond near to where I reside, sporting florescent jackets with`Community Payback` emblazened on their backs. Word in our neighbourhood is that they were amongst the rioters......

This morning I noticed that one of them was wearing his jacket inside out, with a handwritten logo of `should be in prison` scrawled on the back. Made me smile.

We have them round sweeping the roads and pavements. They were around last week, my Son had an attempted break in( had his front door damaged trying to prize it open) and so did 3 others I know of a couple of days later.

    Pure coincidence I'm sure:rolleyes:

As far as Birmingham is concerned, 75% of the arrested rioters had previous 'form'. 25% of them had 10 or more 'previous'. So the pinko libs should bear that in mind when making their pathetic 'deprived underclass' excuses. They should also bear in mind that the vast majority of people who come from 'deprived' backgrounds work hard for a living, wouldn't dream of taking part in riots, and as has been pointed out, just like the rest of us end up paying via their taxes for these criminals.

Having said that, I tend to agree (only partially) with Red Robbo that vigilantes are not the answer. However, since the Chief Constable of Birmingham recently said that citizens should not protect their property but leave it to the police, and the police palpably failed to do that, where pray, Rob, does a decent citizen go?

    All the best

    Bill

PS. Must make note to myself, not to visit Dek late one night and blunder into his pad! And that proves something.

That is normal practice in this counties penal system.Time off for good behavior and showing remorse.

Unless the judge has put a minimum sentence specifying a release date that will apply to the rioting scum that steal and wreck peoples lives.

I am pleased to see the minimum release dates have been applied to some of the more serious cases..That is unles the bottom feeding barristers can get them off on appeal after appeal after appeal....and all on legal aid === The TAX PAYER YET AGAIN !!:mad:

  13. Anywhere they're not going to get their heads kicked in or run down in sets of three would be favourite! ;)

My distaste for vigilantism has more to do with concern for the vigilantes and the police than the crims.

    The Looters Prayer

    Our Father,
    who art in prison,
my mum knows not his name,
    thy Riots come,
    read it in "The Sun"
in Birmingham , as it is in London ,
give us this day our Welfare bread
    and forgive us our looting,
as we are happy to loot those who defend stuff against us.
    Lead us not into employment
    but deliver us free housing,
    for thine is the Facebook
    the Blackberry & the Twitter,
    forever and ever...

    Innit

    Cheers

If that article is to be believed ( and I dont think he is really that stupid, naive and out of touch especially in his position) Then him and his Ronald Mcdonald suit should be sent to outer mongolia never to return:mad:

To condone that behaviour and suggest it should go unpunsished just beggars belief.
This bloke is in cloud cuckoo land big time and frankly questions should be asked about his mental stability and his suitability to continue in his present position imho.
This drivle will be siezed upon by the rest of the doo gooders I expect to clear any conscience that may have in condoning any future crimes in line these standards.

It is just another example of why I have nothing to do with religion and sums up the total contempt I feel for him and his hypocritical followers. oh and not forgetting" if Jesus was round the corner he would help you carry your nicked plasma telly back to your flat" .....see even the boss of his organization is a crook !!!

    Gimme strength:bang:

    Cheers

  18. Nah. This is the usual thing. Take a few statements out of context, exaggerate, stick a few dodgy references in, and serve. People, sort of don't believe it, but enough of it sticks to alter peoples minds because it sort of fits what they were pre disposed to believe anyway.

    for eg. From the article.
See what they did there? The quotes stop at "what would jesus do". The rest is stuff THEY have put in.

I don't know Dr Williams personally, but c'mon. Does this REALLY sound like something the archbishop of Canterbury would say? :pigs: Or is it something that someone with an agenda has written as a barefaced smear, to make people say stuff like
C'mon del, you had it right first time when you said that you were not naive enough to believe this S**t. That being the case this has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with hysterical and inaccurate media reporting! Turn your contempt on the people who write the lies rather than the people who they are lying about.

Unless, of course, someone can find me a reliable source for Dr Williams. saying:-
    I won't hold my breath.
    :bang:

You have to admit Rob this bloke comes out with some really off the wall things at times and frequently has to explain away the row he has caused.

My anger IS directed at whoever says /writes this crap and yes I dont believe even he would have come out with this directly as written and has been mis quoted.

Doesn't alter my opinion though but then again ,you never thought it would did you ;)

    Cheers Mate
